Driving with Joseph: Running Commentary on The Run
These Days of
Stars
Always trying to coax the most from devices few otherwise take seriously,
this installment of 'Driving with Joseph' would employ a 'Rooftop Cam' in
the form of an iPhone, hand-held through the sunroof. The voice narrative
would also be recorded with an iPhone in the Voice Memo mode. Alas, close-micing
for the intimate sound I desired proved to be a challenge for the built-in
mic. With this, 'after the season', the narrative will likely be re-recorded
in the studio down the hall, using a proper microphone. In the interim, the
narrative has been additionally posted below. The music, however, was originally
spawned with a 'high tech' approach, scored and performed with digital sampling
technology, recorded in Logic Studio Pro.
Best for The Season ...
I was born in Port Washington, New York.
And in between the days of shepherds,
And these days of stars,
My road has been gratefully flanked
By loving loyalists who stood by me,
Whether for celebration,
Or tribulation,
Or triumph.
From stateside to The Kingdom,
From ruin to enrichment,
Without abandonment, these are the ones,
If by circumstance, I could call ... family.
And these are the ones who remain with me,
In this season,
In these days of stars.
